Lucky winner scoops incredible $940 MILLION lotto win
A lucky winner has scored the fourth largest prize in US Powerball history after claiming a massive A$941 million jackpot.
The person, a resident of the US state of Maryland who is yet to be identified, matched all six numbers from Wednesday’s draw.
The winning numbers were 40, 53, 60, 68, 69, plus Powerball 22.
They now have a decision on how they would like to take their winnings.
The winner can take the $941 million paid in 30 payments over 29 years or a lump sum payment of $704 million.
These amounts are before tax though.
The enormous jackpot began swelling in September last year, meaning it’s taken about five months for someone to take home the jackpot.
It’s been the longest jackpot run in US Powerball’s history and will now reset to $25 million for Saturday’s draw.
