'We're all sick of it': Mum's heartbreak over neighbour's angry note about autistic son

A mum has shared an angry note she received from a neighbour because of her autistic son’s yelling.

Single mum Ana Gray, 28, from Napier, New Zealand, received the note on New Year’s Day in her letterbox, NZ Herald reports.

Her son Wiremu, 7, has autism and Global Development Delay – a condition which affects the boy’s ability to learn how to speak, walk and social interactions.

Ms Gray shared the note on Facebook.

“If you don’t stop that kid yelling I will ring child support and report you,” the note reads.

“We [are] all getting sick of the yelling and also ring your landlord.”

The mum told The Herald she would have preferred if the person who wrote the note had spoken with her face-to-face so she could explain.

She said it’s added stress to her life as a single mum, raising Wiremu with her other three young children.

The mum’s landlord is also said to be aware of her son’s autism.

Ms Gray said her son has outbursts “almost every day” and it means she mostly has to keep him at home.

But she says she still loves him to pieces.

“He may not be perfect to others but he is perfect to me,” she said.
