Team news

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp made 11 changes for the tie at League One Shrewsbury but his starting line-up was still considerably stronger than the one which put out Everton in the last round.

Dejan Lovren captained the team alongside fellow first-teamers Joel Matip, Fabinho and Divock Origi with January signing Takumi Minamino also starting.

Naby Keita returned from injury to take his place on the bench which was, somewhat surprisingly, also occupied by Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
