"Would you wear it as a kimono? I’ve put it next to my Tree of Life Kimono for reference. Hmmmm do I dare? We have a lunch tomorrow and I really fancy wearing it."

The robe in question is Kmart's Satin Trim Gown which is available in two colours: Sandy Mauve or Midnight.

The post quickly attracted a lot of attention, receiving almost 700 comments.

One user responded, "I’ve worn a purple night robe from Kmart as a kimono/ duster... they’re a staple part of my wardrobe. I got so many compliments on it. I just cut the cord loops off the outside. Do it."

Another responded, "Absolutely! Only you will know and I’m sure you’ll look amazing!"

"Why not... I wore a long sleeve Merle grey PJ top to work and actually got a few compliments on what a nice top/jumper," someone else added.

Another user suggested an outfit idea, "Denim and a basic white top would look amazing with the dusty rose robe!"

"Bloody hell yes, I bought a black and white robe from Kmart and wore it out for my birthday last year," one user shared.

The poster shared in the comments section that the kimono's she normally buys from Tree of Life are $80, so her Kmart buy is four times cheaper.

However, some shoppers weren't as keen on the idea, "Personally I think the sleeves give it away it’s a sleepwear," one user said.

Another responded, "I agree... the satin trim is very ‘sleepwear’."

Others agreed, but were outnumbered by the many who thought it looked great.
