Liberal candidate Fiona Kotvojs has drawn the unfavourable last position on the ballot paper for the upcoming federal by-election in Eden-Monaro.

The Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party candidate Matthew Stadtmiller on Wednesday drew the coveted first spot on the ballot ahead of James Jansson from the Science Party who secured second place.

Nationals candidate Trevor Hicks came in fifth ahead of Labor's Kristy McBain who secured the eighth spot.

There are 14 candidates competing for the federal seat in the July 4 by-election on the NSW South Coast.

The candidates also include Michael Balderstone from Help End Marijuana Prohibition, Dean McCrae from the Liberal Democrats, Greens candidate Cathy Griff and Riccardo Bosi of the Australia One Party.

The by-election follows the resignation of Labor MP Mike Kelly for health reasons.
