Shocking video of school fight before student opens fire
WARNING - CONFRONTING CONTENT: Chilling video of a classroom fight which ended in a spray of bullets has emerged as the teen suspect is taken into custody.
An 18-year-old student opened fire during a fight at his school near Dallas, in the US state of Texas on Wednesday (local time), injuring four people and then fleeing the scene.
Timothy George Simpkins was taken into custody without incident, the Arlington Police Department tweeted. With victims in hospital, he is now facing three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
One person is in critical condition, another was in good condition and a third person was treated for minor injuries and was scheduled to be released from the hospital on the same day, police said, according to the Associated Press.
A fourth person, reported by Fox4 to be a pregnant teacher, was hurt but did not require treatment at a hospital.
The two people who will remain in hospital are being treated for gun shot wounds, the broadcaster said. A 15-year-old male in critical condition and a 25-year-old male in good condition.
"This is not a random act of violence,' Assistant Police Chief Kevin Kolbye told reporters, allaying any concerns of another random school shooting in the country.
"This is not somebody attacking our school."
Videos shared online purport to show the fight leading up to the incident, while in a separate video, gunshots can be heard ringing out as students scramble for safety.

"School shooting at timberview [high school] and it breaks my heart that my cousin is scared under a desk," a Twitter user wrote when posting the clip, which has been published by US media outlets.
Another video shows students fleeing from their desk as multiple gunshots ring out from what appears to be the classroom next door.
