Shocking video shows Insta model attacking boyfriend before his murder
Shocking security footage from an elevator shows a social media model allegedly attacking her boyfriend just months before he was murdered.
Courtney Clenney, who goes by Courtney Tailor on social media, was charged with second-degree murder on Thursday, following her boyfriend's death earlier this year.
On April 3, Christian “Toby” Obumseli, 27, was stabbed in the chest in the high-rise apartment he shared with Clenney in Miami.
Now, the startling video of Mr Obumseli and Clenney in an elevator back in February this year has been released.
In the video, Clenney is seen walking into the elevator and holding it open for Mr Obumseli, while she tries using the touch screen.
She then starts hitting the screen with her hand before turning on her partner.
She pushes him and then grabs at his hair. He tries to defend himself as she tries to hit him and attempts to hold her back while he tries to get the touch screen to work.
Mr Obumseli keeps trying to push her back, even when they get to their floor and exit the lift.
Model claims 'self-defence' in murder
Just two months after the incident in the elevator, Mr Obumseli was stabbed in their Miami apartment and he later died in hospital.
According to an arrest report, Clenney acknowledged killing Mr Obumseli but said she acted in self-defence.
She said Mr Obumseli had pushed her and thrown her to the floor, which prompted her to grab a knife and throw it at him from about three meters away.
The medical examiner said Mr Obumseli’s wound could not have been caused by a knife thrown from that distance.
Clenney, who also had a platform on OnlyFans, was arrested in Hawaii on Wednesday, where she remains while authorities seek her extradition to Florida.
Her Miami defence lawyer, Frank Prieto, told the Miami Herald that she was in Hawaii while in rehabilitation for substance abuse and post-traumatic stress disorder.
Details reveal couple's 'tumultuous' relationship
The elevator incident isn't the only report of alleged abuse or domestic disturbances. The Miami Herald detailed several instances where police were called due to arguments between the couple.
In January 2021 police were called to a casino in Las Vegas after Clenney and Mr Obumseli got into an argument.
Clenney allegedly threw a glass at him while he was lying on the couch after he refused to go to bed. She was charged with domestic battery.
Aidan Nevisky lived below the couple when they lived in Austin, Texas, and he told the Miami Herald he constantly heard the two fighting.
“You could hear her throwing glasses, smashing objects,” he told the Herald.
Mr Prieto, said the medical examiner’s opinions won’t stand up to scientific scrutiny when they argue self-defence at trial.
He acknowledged that Clenney and Mr Obumseli had a tumultuous relationship but said Mr Obumseli was the primary aggressor.
“Obumseli was the abuser, the worst kind of abuser,” Mr Prieto said in a statement. “He would manipulate and abuse Courtney in private when he thought nobody was around.”
