Peel Regional Police released stunning security camera video Wednesday showing a woman run over a man while allegedly stealing his Porsche SUV earlier this month in Mississauga.

That woman, now wanted for the vehicle theft and dangerous operation causing bodily harm, is captured on the video telling the man she's at his home to see the Porsche Cayenne. Police said she was responding to an Auto Trader ad, and the incident took place at around 2 p.m. on Sept. 6 in the Winston Churchill and Eglinton Avenue area.

She tells the man she's waiting for her dad, but asks to see the vehicle first. The doorbell camera captures a clear image of the suspect, who Peel Regional Police are still trying to identify.

Here's the image of the suspect released by police:

Shortly after, a different security camera angle shows the man close the passenger door while the woman remains in the driver's seat.

She then appears to lock the doors, leaving the seller checking the handles.

WATCH: Peel Regional Police released this video of the vehicle theft. Warning: It shows a man being run over, although he does not appear to suffer serious injuries:

When the man moves behind the white SUV, the woman reverses hard and slams into him. The man disappears from view as the SUV races backward onto the street.

Somehow, he bounces up, though he holds his back as he confronts the woman through the window.

The video shared by police doesn't show the SUV driving away, but it was stolen, according to a news release.

Police are also looking for information about the drivers of two other SUVs — one that's silver-grey and one that's blue — in connection with the case.

"Be vigilant when selling items online," police said, noting the service offers buy and sell exchange zones at each of its police divisions.

Thousands of vehicles stolen in Peel Region this year

Peel region, like the wider Greater Toronto Area, has been struggling with stolen vehicles and carjackings in recent years. This March, it was dubbed the "auto theft capital of Canada."

The most recent statistics from Peel police show there were 3,316 vehicles stolen from Jan. 1 to May 31 (which is actually down from 3,580 during the same time period in 2023.)

Last year, the region saw 8,322 thefts in total.

Days before this incident, a man was arrested after trying to drive over Peel police cruisers in an allegedly stolen Ford Bronco.
