Shocking moment TV presenter loses tooth live on air

A TV presenter has had an embarrassing on-air gaffe after she lost her tooth during a live broadcast.

Ukrainian anchor Marichka Padalko was reading the news when suddenly she put her hand to her mouth to pull out a tooth before continuing to speak with a gap clearly visible.

She remained poised and acted as if nothing happened until she was finished presenting.

Padalko shared a video of the moment on Instagram, saying “it came out of nowhere”.

“Yes, I really lost a part of my front tooth today during the live broadcast,” a translated post on Instagram on July 16 read.

“This is probably my most curious experience in my 20 years as a presenter.

“Live broadcasting is wonderful because it is always unpredictable.”

Padalko said her colleague wrote to her saying, “you reacted as if you were losing your teeth every day”, before she revealed why her tooth was loose.

“No. Not every day,” she wrote.

“It’s just that right now I’ve decided to correct the annoyance that happened more than 10 years ago. I had a heavy metal alarm clock in my bedroom and once my little daughter was very interested.

“She grabbed [it] from the windowsill and began waving a “toy” around her sleeping mother.

“As soon as I yawned ... [it] knocked out half of my tooth.”

She said she had now finally decided on a more radical repair.

“Honestly I thought the incident would go unnoticed,” Padalko added.

With the clip liked almost 30,000 times, the news presenter said she was impressed by the support she received and revealed one trait of reporters.

“We keep calm in any situation,” she said.
