Shocking hit-and-run sends scooter rider flying into the air
A woman has been filmed being thrown in the air off her e-scooter during a horrific hit and run.
The LAPD are searching for the driver of a 2020 Chevy Spark after the car was filmed ploughing into the woman and sending her flying in Downtown LA on Wednesday about 1pm local time.
She landed head first on the footpath.
Video from the scene shows blood covering the concrete with the scooter lying on the road.
In a statement, police said the Chevy Spark had been reported stolen and the man driving it fled the scene on foot.

The woman was taken to hospital and placed in the Intensive Care Unit with severe injuries but is expected to survive.
Police are offering a US$25,000 reward for information leading to the driver’s arrest.
The driver is being described as Hispanic, between 20 to 25 years old with tattoos on his chest.
