Shocking find in supermarket salad bag leads to investigation

A supermarket customer in Greece has been left stunned after a bizarre find inside a pack of salad.

The startled shopper discovered a live frog inside the packaging at an AB Vasilopoulos supermarket before circulating images of the amphibian online to the delight of the online community.

In the remarkable photos the frog can be seen camouflaged in a packet of green salad.

The supermarket has not issued an official statement on the incident but its customer support team answered some of their customers’ comments online.

“We would like to inform you that the incident happened in one of our shops and that we have placed it under the Red Bag procedure (procedure of product quality control),” a spokesperson said.

“Our provider has been informed about the incident and has already taken action and promised that no similar incident will occur in the future.

“AB Vasilopoulos is following the matter closely and we aim to ensure the non-negotiable quality of our products every day.”

Online posts of the frog were inundated with comments of disbelief over the find.

“Good luck, now you can try opening a pet shop,” one social media user joked.

The original social media post with the images has been since removed by the user.

In a similar incident last year, a Woolworths customer in Victoria said she “felt sick” after finding an eight-legged addition inside a salad pack she’d purchased.
