Shocking fight over a car park at busy shopping centre
Shoppers have been filmed yelling threats and racist comments at each other over a parking space in an Adelaide shopping centre.
The incident was filmed at Marion shopping centre during late night Christmas shopping on Thursday despite there being a number of carparks available.
“You come to this f****** country and think you can take advantage of us?” one woman yells at drivers seated in a silver car.
“Seriously. We indicated first.”
A woman steps out of the car and the other woman keeps yelling.
“That gentleman gestured to us for the park not you,” she says.
A man then gets involved.
“You don’t want to f******* take this f****** car bay,” he says.
Cassandra Crawford, who witnessed the dispute, was concerned it was going to escalate.
“He said, ‘get out – I want to see where this goes’,” she said.
As tempers flared Ms Crawford called police concerned those involved were going to fight.
When police arrived only the people in the silver car were there. They did not make a criminal complaint.
Royal Automobile Association of South Australia’s Hayley Cain said the best course of action when getting involved in a road rage dispute is to drive away.
“You’re putting yourself at risk,” she said.
“And probably the people around you as well.”
