Shock moment girl bashed getting off bus
Police are investigating after horrifying footage of an attack on a young girl at a Brisbane bus stop was posted online.
Horrifying footage posted online captured bystanders watching in shock when a group of girls stepped off a bus at Woolloongabba transit station and began attacking their victim.
No-one appears to intervene while the clip is taken.
The footage shows two girls getting onto a bus from its front entrance before quickly exiting through the back door and setting themselves upon a third girl.
The young girl is seen being hit with a barrage of punches before she drops to the ground and is subjected to a series of kicks.
The video appears to have been taken by the offenders, showing their point of view in the attack.
“That’s what ‘ya (sic) get,” the video was captioned.
Morningside Police have urged the young victim to come forward as she has not reported the attack, despite an investigation being launched.
“Officers are aware of a video that has been posted to social media depicting an assault that has occurred at a Woolloongabba transit station,” a Queensland Police spokesperson said.
“This incident had not been reported to police, however officers are now conducting inquires in relation to the video.
“Investigations into locating those involved in the incident are ongoing.”
The video of the incident shows a number of bystanders, mostly adults, walking past or watching on as the attack takes place.
They do not attempt to intervene as the young girl is forced to shelter her head in her hands as the attack goes on.
After a number of punches and kicks, the attackers move away.
It’s the second serious assault involving young women that’s taken place this month, with two teens charged over a separate attack at a bus stop on Melbourne Street and Hope Street in Brisbane’s south on November 4.
The two girls, aged 15 and 19, were charged after another 15-year-old was allegedly violently attacked as the pair attempted to steal her handbag.
They were unsuccessful in stealing the bag and left the area.
The 15-year-old was charged with attempted robbery with violence and the 19-year-old was charged with one count each of attempted robbery and stealing.
They were both remanded in custody and will appear in court at a later date.
