Few can pull off a bright yellow bikini with aplomb, but Sharon Stone has done just that in her latest Instagram post.

The actress, 63, wowed in the citrus-hued two-piece as she relaxed in the sunshine over the weekend.

Captioning a post of the daring ensemble, the Basic Instinct star wished her 2.6 million followers a "happy summer".

The picture has garnered more than 141,000 'likes' and over 3,500 comments.

They included messages from a number of famous Hollywood red carpet regulars.

Fellow actress Rose McGowen wrote: "You deserve all the Oscars that ever existed."

While Kate Hudson left a series of yellow hearts, and Andie McDowell shared a fire emoji.

Many also pointed out that her dog, sitting in the background behind a sliding glass door, appeared to be looking at her admiringly.

One person joked: "Even the dog knows you got IT".

It comes just weeks after Stone - who became a household name for her role in Basic Instinct - revealed in her memoir, The Beauty of Living Twice, how she was "tricked" into taking off her underwear for the 1992 film.

She claimed she didn't realise how revealing the scene would be until she saw it at a preview.

In her book, she wrote: "That was how I saw my vagina-shot for the first time, long after I'd been told, 'We can't see anything - I just need you to remove your panties, as the white is reflecting the light, so we know you have panties on.'

"Yes, there have been many points of view on this topic, but since I'm the one with the vagina, in question, let me say: The other points of view are bulls**t... It was me and my parts up there."

Last year, Stone raised awareness about the importance of breast cancer screening with a selfie from her hospital bed.

In a post on Instagram, she wrote: "Getting my mammogram. Have you gotten yours?”

The star added: "An annual screening mammogram has decreased death rate of breast cancer by 40%."
