A man struck by a shark while snorkelling on the central Queensland coast has escaped with only minor injuries.
The man, aged in his 30s, was bruised across his chest and abdomen during the encounter.
The man was earlier reported to have been bitten but Queensland Ambulance clinical support officer Sean Quarmby said the cause of a laceration on his foot was unknown.
Paramedics were called to Bargara, near Bundaberg, about 7.10pm on Saturday to help the man.
Mr Quarmby said the man had gone home after the incident and was driving with his partner to hospital when they called paramedics.
The man was taken in a stable condition to Bundaberg Hospital.
