Bushfire threat weakens in Perth's north

The threat from a bushfire in Perth's north-eastern fringe has been downgraded but the blaze is still not contained.

An emergency warning issued for parts of Cullacabardee in the City of Swan has been downgraded to a watch and act alert.

Firefighters, earlier on Wednesday, brought a bushfire in Hazelmere, in Perth's east, under control as the state's heatwave continued.

Another blaze at Forrestdale in Perth's southeast was contained overnight after burning through about 47 hectares.

Perth is on track for its fourth consecutive day above 35C with the mercury forecast to reach 39C on Thursday.
