Serena Williams' surprising advice for best friend Meghan Markle

With additional reporting by Danielle Stacey.

Serena Williams says Meghan Markle hasn’t changed one bit since becoming a royal, according to PEOPLE.

At a launch for her clothing line on Wednesday, the tennis star told the magazine that she has been given the pregnant Duchess advice ahead of the baby’s arrival in spring, but revealed that Meghan “still gives me more advice.”

Serena, 37, gave birth to her daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian in September 2017.

She also said that Meghan has always been so nice.

“I’m like, ‘How are you?’ and she’s like, ‘No, how are you?’ and I’m like, ‘You’re so sweet, but I’m really asking – how are YOU?’” Serena said.

“I’m like, ‘Meghan, stop being so nice…you’re the pregnant one, aren’t you supposed to have hormones, why are you so sweet?’ But that’s always been her.”

Serena and former actress Meghan, 37, are believed to have struck up a friendship at the Super Bowl in 2010.

The Duchess has supported her friend at Wimbledon over the years, most recently cheering her on at the Ladies’ Single Final with sister-in-law Kate in July.

Serena and her Reddit co-founder husband Alexis Ohania attended Meghan and Harry’s wedding on May 19 in Windsor.

As for any pregnancy and mummy advice Serena had for her close friend, the tennis ace simply said: “It will come.”

“I don’t know what’s going to happen, I didn’t know how I’m going to have a baby, and it all came,” she explained. “It’s so crazy, I totally changed, and it literally is like a switch. And so, I say that, ‘It will come.'”
