A truck driver is expected to be sentenced for causing the death of a man in a horror five-car pile-up on a Melbourne freeway.
Michael Brian Templeton, 31, pleaded guilty to culpable driving causing the death of Kari-Pekka Maunus on the Calder Freeway at Taylors Lakes in March 2017.
Templeton's large tip truck swerved erratically on the freeway and slammed into the back of Mr Maunus' ute, running over it and killing the 49-year-old boilermaker instantly.
It was alleged Templeton was affected by the drug ice at the time of the crash.
He is due to be sentenced by County Court Judge Trevor Wraight on Friday.
