What do you see – a beach or a door? Optical illusion leaves internet baffled
Is it a beach or a door?
A new tweet is the latest optical illusion to cause arguments and mess with people’s minds.
This picture has thousands debating whether it is “a door or a beach” despite the two things being nothing alike, or so we thought.
Twitter user Rebecca Reilly shared the picture online last Saturday that has the internet divided, with many certain it is a beach scene that has been flipped anti-clockwise 90 degrees.

Others are convinced it’s a painted blue door frame, beside a slab of concrete.
The consensus appears to be almost evenly split, according to results of a poll on Ms Reilly’s Twitter.

The puzzle seems all but solved with one person claiming they tracked down the original source of the “beach” scene with people in the water, removed for the optical illusion test.
However, others countered saying the people in the image have been poorly photoshopped in, with pixelated squares visible around each set of people.

The source of the image reportedly identified the picture as a beach, according to CBS 13 news.
It is the latest in a list of optical illusions to baffle the internet.
In May, a photo of coloured sneakers sparked endless discussion after some people revealed they saw pink and white – while others insisted they saw grey and green.
The debate followed the now infamous dress that divided internet users in 2015, with the masses in a spin over whether it was black and blue, or gold and white.
