Authorities have called off the search for 17 missing sailors whose fishing boat sank in the Barents Sea in northern Russia.
According to the state news agency Ria Novosti, authorities in Moscow announced on Wednesday that an aircraft had not found any survivors.
A ship specialised in locating sunken vessels on the seabed was due to arrive at the site of the accident.
The 42-year-old fishing boat sank off the coast of the Novaya Zemlya archipelago in stormy seas on Monday with 19 people on board.
Two crew members were rescued.
According to the authorities, the vessel had iced over.
The accident occurred when the fishermen were trying to pull a fishing net out of the water during a storm.
