Sean Lock's life has been celebrated with a new graffiti mural in tribute to the late comedian.

The 8 Out Of 10 Cats star died aged 58 last month, following a secret battle with cancer.

Graffiti artist Hugh Whittaker has created a portrait of Lock – also known for his BBC sitcom 15 Storeys High, which he wrote and starred in – on a wall in Brighton's Elder Place.

Gnasher has also graffitied a double portrait of Lock in Northampton.

The mural – located on the underpass near Mayorhold multi-storey car park in the town centre – is touchingly captioned with a quote from Lock: "You can't write tears Jimmy."

Lock made the comment to 8 Out Of 10 Cats host Jimmy Carr on the panel show when asked what he would like his obituary to say.

Lock quipped: "I don't care. I'll be dead."

He then added: "Ideally I'd like it to say... You can't write tears, Jimmy."
