Scottish farmer's hilarious take on UK heatwave

A Scottish farmer has amused millions of people with his video showing his struggle with the heatwave gripping the UK this week.

Brits have been complaining about the unusually hot weather. Temperatures have soared in Glasgow with the mercury hitting 32 on Thursday. The BBC reports it was the hottest day in Scotland in 23 years.

“We’ve been about three weeks without any rain, things are seriously dry,” the unnamed farmer said in the video posted by BBC Scotland .

“It’s so hot, I’ve never seen it so hot. It must be at least 14-and-a-half, maybe even 15 degrees.

“Things are really beginning to burn up now. The grass and everything, just fair, fair dry. We’re fair needing a day’s rain.”

The farmer then said he was in a bit of a situation as his truck had broken down about 400 metres from his farm.

“I’m out of water so if – and it’s so hot, oh God it’s so hot – so if this is my last message and I didn’t make it home and I and I die out here due to heat exhaustion tell Willy I’ll not be at darts tonight and tell my sister Elsa that there’s actually a scotch egg in the fridge which will be out of date on Thursday,” he said.
