Some schools are closed and buses are cancelled for some areas because of snowy weather on Wednesday.

Buses are cancelled for all students in Wellesley, Wilmot, Woolwich, North Wellington and Dufferin County.

The cancellations will also affect school buses, taxis and special education routes in those areas.

School is also closed today in the North Wellington and Dufferin areas. All other schools are open.

In a social media post, the public school board says all secondary school exams scheduled for Wednesday have been postponed to Thursday.

Weather advisory issued

Environment Canada issued a weather advisory on Wednesday morning for Waterloo region, Guelph and surrounding areas.

The advisory says about 5 to 10 cm of snow will be falling Wednesday morning through to the evening. It also says a "brief bursts of heavy flurries are expected" because of a cold front moving through the area.

The weather agency is warning that roads and walkways may be icy with reduced visibility at times.
