School evacuated over potentially explosive device
A school was evacuated following a report that a child had brought in a potentially explosive device, according to police.
Officers from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary were called to Orchard Junior School in Dibden Purlieu, Hampshire, at about 13:30 GMT on Friday.
The force said the child had brought in "what may have been a potentially unexploded ordnance".
The school was "calmly evacuated" and a disposal team took the item away to be destroyed as a precaution, it said.
The BBC has contacted the school for comment.
