Scary moment Olympic champion collapses during live interview
Jaqueline Carvalho sent a scare through the Brazilian volleyball community on Wednesday when she fainted on live TV.
The Olympic gold medallist, 35, was being interviewed during a Brazilian league game when she suddenly collapsed.
She had been talking animatedly to the interviewer before her eyes began to droop.
The interviewer then put a hand on her seconds before she fell to the floor.
She was immediately helped by onlookers, including one of the team’s doctors, and didn’t suffer any serious harm.
Doctors said she suffered a sudden loss in blood pressure due to the heat in the arena.
Carvalho won gold for Brazil at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, and in London in 2012, and recently retired from the national team after also competing at Rio 2016.
