A sure-fire way of getting a 10 per cent discount at Woolworths has been revealed.

Yahoo Finance has confirmed that anyone who becomes a customer of Woolworths Mobile will have 10 per cent taken off their grocery bill once each month.

The maximum spend for the shop is $500 but otherwise there don't seem to be any restrictions.

"We are pleased to offer all Woolworths Mobile customers access to 10 per cent off their groceries once a month for the duration of their mobile phone plan," said Woolworths Mobile head James McMurrough.

"There is no minimum spend on Woolworths Mobile for the 10 per cent off your grocery shop offer to apply and the offer is available both online and in-store on the second weekend of the month."

That's a potential $600 off groceries each year.

If you don't think you need, or want, to change mobile providers, consider that the cheapest Woolworths mobile plan costs just $10 per month.

Buying that one to put into a tablet computer or even just to lay idle may still be a good way to get a significant discount on groceries.

For example, if a large family shopped the full $500 each month, it would receive $50 off. Even with the $10 mobile plan fee taken out, that household is still $40 ahead.

Customers who want to claim the 10 per cent discount just need to connect their Woolworths Mobile and Woolworths Rewards accounts and opt-on to marketing emails for a minimum of 14 days.

The 10 per cent offer was revealed last week when Woolworths Mobile announced it had the latest Samsung Galaxy S20 range available for preorder.

Customers who buy the Samsung Galaxy S20 through a monthly plan end up receiving $250 off the price of buying the phone outright. Plus they will receive a $299 pair of wireless earbuds from Samsung.
