SAS' Barry Hall breaks down in tears and reveals his 'anger issues'

Former AFL player and SAS Australia star Barry Hall breaks down in tears in a new promo for the show as he speaks about his family and reveals he has "anger issues".

The sportsman is one of 17 Aussie stars appearing on this season of the show where celebrities undergo gruelling physical and psychological tests to see if they could be selected for the SAS by the end.

"I've got a bit of an anger issue," Barry is heard saying during the clip. "I think I've got it fully under control, but I haven't been put under those pressure situations."

"Yet," chief directing staff Ant Middleton adds.

Speaking of his reputation as 'Big Bad Barry' on the AFL field, the sportsman also shared, "I was so young and immature, I had a chip on my shoulder. Your biggest asset is your brain, I tried to use my brawn."

When it came to speaking about his wife Lauren Brant and their three sons, Barry broke down in tears, saying, "I didn't realise how selfish I was until I had a wife and kids. Lauren is an amazing mum."

As he broke down he added, "No one likes to see a grown man crying," before a producer added, "It's great to see a grown man cry!"

Barry added, "I'm doing this course to make my boys proud."

He is seen in one scene with Ant who yells at him, "Do not let yourself down, do not let me down!"

Barry is also seen squaring up against former Bachelor and Survivor star Locky Gilbert with Ant telling the men they are each other's enemies.

Lauren and Barry met when they appeared on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! in 2015, with their romance blossoming after the show wrapped.

The pair announced last year they secretly married so Barry's late sister Sandra could witness them tying the knot before her passing.

They are parents to three boys, Miller, four, Houston, two, and Samson, three months.

SAS Australia premieres on February 21 on Seven.
