Sam Frost 'to throw in the towel with acting', insider claims

She shocked fans when it was revealed she was quitting her role in Home and Away and now an insider has claimed Sam Frost may be done with acting altogether.

Earlier this month, Channel Seven confirmed the former Bachelorette star would be exiting the show after it was previously claimed she would only be written out 'temporarily' until after a 'medical procedure' in January.

"We support and respect Sam’s decision to leave Home and Away," a network spokesperson confirmed in a statement to Yahoo Lifestyle.

"Sam leaves with our sincere thanks and very best wishes for the future."

Now, an insider has told New Idea that Sam hopes to move from Sydney back to Melbourne so she can be with her family.

“Those around her believe she’s going to throw in the towel with acting,” the source said.

“Sam sort of fell into it ... it’s not a massive passion.”

The insider said Sam will instead focus on her work in the “health and wellbeing” industry.

Sam, who has been an advocate for mental health issues and became the founder and director of the mental health initiative, "Believe by Sam Frost" in 2015, recently revealed she’s written a book about her own personal experiences.

"I'm very excited to announce, I wrote a book!!!!!!" Sam wrote on Instagram. "I teamed up with my beautiful sister Kristine, and @hachetteaus to create BELIEVE."

She went on to explain that the book is "all about mental health from my own personal experience".

"It's raw, honest and real. I don't pretend to have all the answers, I'm still working it out myself. But I know what it feels like to lose all hope, to be surrounded by darkness.. not knowing how I can possibly get through another day.

"I've lived it, and I have got through it.. (and tumbled backwards many, many times)

"This is my story. One I feel very proud to share. It’s about finding strength, courage, resilience and hope while learning life’s big lessons along the way."

'Don't want to get vaccinated'

Back in October, Sam made headlines over her controversial Covid-19 vaccination stance which she revealed in a tearful Instagram video.

In the since-deleted clip, Sam admitted that she was not vaccinated and spoke about feeling like "less of a human" due to "harsh judgment" from society in the lead-up to NSW's 'Freedom Day'.

She described the treatment of unvaccinated people, particularly when it came to the state's ongoing restrictions, as "segregation".

"I was really hesitant about doing a video or even speaking up about this sort of thing, but I feel like it's getting to a point now in the world where there is a lot of segregation," she began.

“There’s a lot of harsh judgement and opinions being thrown around a lot and it's taking its toll on my mental health for sure, and I know people around me are struggling, particularly if they're on the side that they don't want to get vaccinated for whatever reason," she continued.

Sam explained that she had spoken to her doctor and her psychologist when deciding to forgo the jab but kept her reasons private.

“It's a really hard time to be in society right now and you feel like you’re less of a human and you feel like people judge you,” she said.

“And you're too scared to talk about your opinion or talk about your feelings, and part of you wants to go, ‘Well it’s none of your damn business why I’m not!’.

“It's going to be a really hard time when vaccinated people are allowed out to do things and go to restaurants because I've made a choice.”
