Teen motorcyclist dies after wheelie stunt goes horribly wrong

A teenage motorcyclist has paid the ultimate price for skylarking outside his relative's house at Largs Bay in South Australia.

Witnesses saw Jordan McGrady, 17, doing a wheelie in a 50 zone just seconds before he lost control and crashed.

Police say the L-plate motorcyclist hit a median strip on the Esplanade just after 8.30pm.

"The young rider exited a roundabout at speed, did a wheelie on the back wheel of his motorbike, lost control and that's when the collision occurred," Sen Sgt David Gordge of SA Police said.

The teenager was treated at the scene by paramedics.

He had suffered serious head injuries and was taken to hospital but sadly he lost his fight for life.
