SA Comancheros bikie appeal allowed

A South Australian Comancheros bikie who was jailed for stabbing a man in front of his child has won the right to appeal his sentence.

Raymond Patrick Harley Jones was sentenced to a three-year non-parole period in May after stabbing a man during a drug deal. But his lawyers should have been able to cross-examine the victim on his own "propensity for violence", the SA Court of Criminal Appeal ruled on Wednesday.

"The applicant's counsel was entitled to cross-examine both as to the fact of conviction or charge and about the underlying conduct," Chief Justice Chris Kourakis said.
