Teenager accused of trying to throw girlfriend in front of train

An Adelaide teenager has faced court accused of trying to throw his girlfriend in front of a moving train.

Lucas Narkle, 18, was with his partner at Elizabeth South train station when witnesses claim the pair began arguing shortly before his behaviour escalated.

"He was having a disagreement, I think he thought his woman cheated," witness Corey Lauritsen said.

It will be alleged Narkle dragged her to the edge of the platform, just centimetres from the tracks as an express train approached.

Mr Lauritsen says he then ran over to Narkle to remonstrate with him after he tried picking her up.

"She was scared, she was crying, calling out for help," witness Benjamin Frith recalled.

Narkle was arrested and charged with attempted murder.

Outside court on Wednesday his family hurled abuse at the media, appearing to disagree with the allegations and even lashing out at the 7 News camera crew.

"I'll f****** kick you in the f****** balls in a minute mate if you don't turn off that f****** camera," one family member could be heard saying.

Police are reviewing security video of the incident with Narkle due to appear in court again in January.
