Woman's crossbow shooting sparks Adelaide manhunt

A man is on the run in Adelaide after allegedly shooting a woman using a crossbow and arrow in the city's northern suburbs.

A woman is in hospital after she was struck in the leg by an arrow at Parafield Gardens on Monday afternoon.

South Australia Police said officers and paramedics were called to Bardsley Avenue just before 5pm.

The man who shot the woman is believed to be known to her, police said.

The suspect had left the area by the time police and ambulances arrived, however, he may have suffered an injury during an altercation at the scene earlier.

The woman's injuries were not considered life threatening.
