Power has been restored to thousands of homes in Port Lincoln on the Eyre Peninsula.

Nearly 4000 homes lost power early on Monday afternoon after a large TV antenna fell onto a 33,000 volt line near Port Lincoln's sub-station, a spokesman from SA Power Networks said. However, crews were able to fix the problem within hours.

A severe weather warning is currently in place for Adelaide, the Mount Lofty Ranges, Yorke Peninsula and other parts of the state with thunderstorms and strong winds expected.
