Adelaide driver slams on brakes, reverses into traffic in northern suburbs road rage boilover
Shocking pictures have emerged of a road rage incident in Adelaide’s northern suburbs, which saw a driver throw his car into reverse on a busy road.
The incident played out on a Bridge at Pooraka just before 2pm on Tuesday.
Dash cam video from the victim’s van shows the moment the driver of a Ford Falcon station wagon slams on the brakes in front of him then suddenly reverses into oncoming traffic.
The victim manages to avoid a collision as the Falcon mounts the kerb, but the vehicles did make contact moments earlier.
The driver also stuck his head of his window and hurled abuse.
The victim has told 7 News the confrontation was sparked when he clapped his hands at the other driver for cutting him off.
Road safety experts say when confronted with a situation like this, motorists should pull over and call police.
“I’ve counted five opportunities on the video where they could’ve turned left or right, pulled over, rung the police, let the police find this vehicle while it’s still on the road,” Graeme O’Dea from the RAA said.
The victim said he reported the incident to police on Wednesday.
