Amelia Mulcahy

Amelia Mulcahy was announced as the full time Weather Presenter for Adelaide’s No. 1 rated Seven News in January 2014.

In addition to the role of Weather Presenter, Amelia is also the Weather, Climate and Environment Reporter.

Amelia grew up in the Adelaide Hills, attended Loreto College at Marryatville and went on to study at UniSA Magill, completing a Bachelor of Journalism.

Whilst at UniSA Amelia worked for the university PR team, interned at Madison magazine in Sydney and completed many hours of work experience at Channel Seven, before beginning a freelance position with Seven News in 2009.

After graduating from UniSA, the travel bug bit and Amelia toured Europe, including the UK, France, Austria, Greece, Germany, Belgium and Italy.

After completing her travel Amelia joined the Yahoo7 team where she split her time between Sydney and Adelaide to work extensively on the Seven News website and social media pages.

In early 2012 Amelia joined the Seven News team full time, where she has crossed live to Sunrise, The Morning Show and various network News bulletins, as well as produced entire news bulletins and presented News updates.

Amelia has a passion for fashion and has hosted the David Jones Spring Summer fashion parades, the major Adelaide Fashion Festival event and also recently took on the role as Ambassador for Fashion at the Races in conjunction with Thoroughbred Racing, hosting various events throughout the TRSA season.

Amelia has a keen interest in health and fitness, with some of her many hobbies including running, Bikram yoga and walking to Mount Lofty.

In 2014 Seven News won the ratings for a 14th straight year – the longest winning streak for a news service in Adelaide.
