A South Australian study is looking at the effectiveness of surgery on people who suffer from sleep apnoea.

Positive results might not only help improve their quality of life, but also benefit the health system.

Researchers will compare how the surgery, which involves shrinking the tongue and re-shaping the pallet, compares with traditional snoring treatments.

They are looking for patients aged between 18 and 70 who have failed previous medical treatments.
