Police lure goat stuck on house roof to safety

South Australian police have taken care of a rather unusual situation in Port Augusta after a goat perched itself atop the roof of a house.

Sandra the goat climbed onto the roof on the Crichten Drive house on Saturday and one patrol was tasked the the unenviable job of getting her down.

Police said they began ‘ne-goat-iating’ with Sandra by attempting to coax her off the roof with grass, but to no avail.

Police eventually managed to get Sandra down safely, but it looked like she was having fun up there. Photo: SAPOL.

Thankfully the ever-prepared country police managed to bring her back to earth safely with a makeshift ramp and a lasso made out of an old clothes line.

Sandra was returned safely to her owner’s yard.
