Journey around Australia by horse and cart

Journey around Australia by horse and cart

A patient West Australian horseman is getting generous support and a lot of curious glances as he crosses the Eyre Peninsula on his journey around the country.

Inspired by the loss of his mum, his wagon team Ian Retallack is making slow but determined progress fundraising for cancer research.

Covering just 25 kilometres a day on his journey around Australia means Ian will not make it home to Perth for at least another three years.

It has taken him six months to make it from Perth to Kyancutta on South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula, and he has already raised $23,000.

But he aims to raise $1 million.

“It’s just great for people to see what really did happen back over 100 years ago,” Ian said.

If you would like to support Ian on his journey, become a sponsor you can contact him via his website.
