Suspicious fire at abandoned Adelaide house

Police are concerned an overnight fire at an abandoned house in Adelaide’s southern suburbs was deliberately lit.

With the temperature expected to reach 42C in Adelaide on Tuesday, police said a deliberately lit fire was dangerous.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze on Rosemary Terrace at Morphett Vale after being called to the abandoned house at 1.10 am.

Police are treating the fire as suspicious and forensic investigators will attempt to determine its cause.

"With total fire bans declared across the state today, this is dangerous and risky behaviour to be engaging in," a spokesman said.
