Smith Family calling for donations
Smith Family calling for donations

It is only a week until Christmas and one of South Australia’s biggest children’s charities is still $50,000 short of its target.

The Smith Family says the soaring costs of living means many can no longer afford to donate.

More than 200 people helped deliver toys and books to families in need over the weekend, but they are still short in what is needed.

Rebecca Gilbert and her children received presents from the Smith Family on Sunday and said they are very grateful for the help making ends meet at Christmas.

“It’s amazing that families out there do this for other families,” Rebecca said.

“It is really special to us.”

The Smith Family says it is $50,000 short of its target this year and urgently needs money for its Christmas appeal.
