A Dutch man who was allegedly bashed after trying to break up a fight at a hotel has died.

The 39-year-old was allegedly assaulted in the car park the Bushman Hotel in Gawler, north of Adelaide, at about 3.30am on Sunday morning.

Two men and a youth were arrested and charged with aggravated assault cause serious harm over the alleged incident, and police say they are now reviewing those charges.

The victim was rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital after the incident, with his wife and another relative traveling to Australia to be by his side yesterday.

Meanwhile, Jason Lindsley – the 24-year-old who was allegedly assaulted at Zhivago nightclub more than a week ago – continues to fight for his life in hospital.

His father Doug met with Premier Jay Weatherill this afternoon and said changes need to be made around night spots to curb violent behavior.
