A woman and her dog were attacked by a German Shepherd cross at Hope Valley this morning.

The Shepherd escaped from its yard and attacked the pair at about 7.30am.

It is the second dog attack in Adelaide in as many days.

Yesterday, a woman trying to save her dog was bitten by another dog at Hallett Cove.

Lawyers have told 7News that there has been a surge in the number of people making compensation claims after dog attacks.

“We see a steady flow of these types of claims,” lawyer Mal Byrne told 7News.

“Victims of dogs can sue the owner of the dog civilly for compensation if they’re attacked.”
