SA welcomes record high jobs figures

The total number of South Australians employed is at a record high of 842,600, the state government says.

Labour force figures for May put SA's unemployment rate at 5.6 per cent, compared to 5.9 in April, giving the state the third-lowest seasonally-adjusted figures behind NSW and Victoria.

"This is an encouraging result, but we know there's a significant amount of work still to be done to lower costs for businesses and drive further economic growth and investment in South Australia," Industry Minister David Pisoni said on Thursday.
