A man has been charged with drug trafficking after hundreds of cannabis plants were found in South Australia's Riverland.

The 42-year-old was arrested after cannabis was found growing outside one Berri home, and hydroponically-grown plants and dried cannabis were found at another address on the weekend, police say.

He was refused bail to appear in the Berri Magistrates Court on December 21 charged with cultivating a large commercial quantity of cannabis and trafficking a large commercial quantity of cannabis.
