A man has been charged over brandishing a gel blaster outside a house at Port Adelaide.
Police were called to the property on Wednesday afternoon after reports of a man yelling and waving a firearm around.
Elite STAR Group officers talked the four occupants out of the house and a search revealed a handheld gel blaster which was seized.
A 26-year-old man was subsequently charged with creating a false belief, aggravated assault and possessing a firearm.
He was refused police bail and will appear in Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on Thursday.
The incident comes just a week after the gel blasters were declared regulated imitation firearms in SA forcing owners to obtain a firearms licence.
The change prompted some enthusiasts to protest on the steps of parliament house last weekend, arguing the new regulations were unnecessary.
