A third man has been accused of the large-scale manufacture and trafficking of ice after police raided one of the biggest clandestine drug labs ever discovered in South Australia.

The 31-year-old Plympton man will appear in Adelaide Magistrates Court on Friday on charges of manufacturing a commercial quantity of methamphetamine and trafficking a controlled drug after police raided a Morphett Vale home on Sunday.

The haul of 120 kilograms of white powder, suspected to be methamphetamine, included 11 kilometres of crystal meth or ice.

The drug lab was in operation when police swooped and also seized a large amount of other chemicals and equipment.

Two other men have been charged with drug offences including a 40-year-old who travelled to Australia recently on a US passport.

Checks are being made to verify his identity and nationality.

His 36-year-old co-accused is a local man known to detectives.

Detective Superintendent Mark Trenwith said on Monday further arrests were possible and police believed they had cracked a major drug syndicate.
