Royal family rocked by tragic death


The royal family in the Netherlands has been left shocked and devastated after Queen Maxima’s sister was found dead at the age of 33.

Inés Zorreguieta reportedly died of apparent suicide at her home in Argentina.

She is said to have had a very close relationship with 47-year-old Queen Maxima, who is married to King Willem-Alexander.

Inés acted as a bridesmaid for her sister back in 2002, when she married into the royal family.

She is also godmother to the couple’s youngest daughter, 11-year-old Princess Ariane.

It was previously reported that Inés, who was working for the Ministry of Social Development, had been suffering from depression and was seeking out help at a clinic in Buenos Aires.

A Dutch government spokesperson reportedly told a local news channel that the 33-year-old had taken her own life.

The queen and her husband were scheduled to take part in a number of official royal events in the coming days, however, it’s now believed King Willem-Alexander will carry them out by himself.
