Robber smashed his way out of a petrol station

A bungling robber tried to smash his way out of a petrol station - after a quick-thinking worker locked him inside. Screwdriver-wielding Russell Hadley forced BP garage staff to hand over £300 but after smashing his way out of the front door - before being battered with traffic cones by irate customers. While the 32-year-old was filling a bag with cigarettes, garage attendant Jamie Marks nipped out of the front door and locked him in.
