A terrified Melbourne couple have woken up to find a man dead in their driveway from gunshot wounds.
Gurleen Kaur said she and her partner were “so scared” when they woke to a distraught man calling out the name of a 28-year-old Essendon man shot dead in their Ringwood driveway on Tuesday about 1am.
“He was calling his name, Andrew, and was banging the doors,” she said.
CCTV cameras captured a man jogging towards the street before a black car appeared to do a U-turn to follow him.
Police seized a number of items from a nearby home including a steel pole.
They also sealed off an area around a discarded blue backpack.
One concerned resident said she could not believe what had happened.
“(You) never see police it’s a nice area to live in. I’m just so shocked,” she said.
