Richard Reid wins I'm A Celeb beating Yvie Jones

On Sunday night’s finale of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!, Richard Reid was officially crowned the king of the jungle for 2019.

As it came down to him and fellow campmates Yvie Jones and Shane Crawford, it was the former AFL star who placed third leaving Yvie and Richard to battle it out for first place.

The two finalists were taken to meet hosts Julia Morris and Dr. Chris Brown to hear the final verdict, which was revealed to be entertainment reporter Richard, who was clearly overjoyed with the result.

He chose for his $100,000 winnings to go to Beyond Blue, a charity which provides support for those with anxiety, depression and other mental health issues.

In an interview prior to the finale, Richard admitted that winning was never his motivation for coming into the jungle, but rather he did it to “challenge” himself.

“I’ve accomplished what I wanted to do,” he said. “To challenge myself as I never have before and for people to really know me, to make sure I’ve done everything I can to let people know who I really am.”

He also added he was excited to be leaving the jungle with “abs”.

Richard’s win comes after The Daily Telegraph claimed the finale wasn’t recorded live and that all the finalists, including the winner, were already back in Australia when it aired.

The publication reported that a series of alternate endings were recorded mid-last week, whilst votes were still coming in.

On Monday morning, Gogglebox star Yvie shared a video of herself and Richard watching the result of the finale on TV from what looks like a pub.
